Terms of Service
By using VGS (Vocabulary Grind System, “the app”), you agree to these terms. The app is operated by Dmytro Ostapchenko.
Using the app
You may use the app to learn vocabulary, for personal, non-commercial purposes. The app requires an account and a network connection; if you do not sign in, a guest account is created for you automatically.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping access to the email address, Apple ID, or Google account you sign in with. Anyone with access to it can sign in as you.
An account is used on one device at a time. Signing in elsewhere ends the session on the device that was holding it.
A guest account is not recoverable. If you lose the device or delete the app without signing in, that data is gone. A guest account left unused for 30 days is deleted.
Do not use the app to store unlawful content, to attack or overload the service, to work around its usage limits, or to access another person’s account.
Usage limits
Generated content — word cards, scans, suggestions, grading — is rate limited per account, per address, and across the service as a whole, and guest accounts have a smaller lifetime allowance than signed-in ones. Lessons unlock once per day. These limits exist to keep the service affordable to run and may change without notice.
Your content
The words and notes you add remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to store them, to generate learning material from them, and to show them back to you across your devices.
Generated content
Translations, definitions, examples, scanned word lists, audio pronunciation, and answer feedback are produced by automated language models. They can be wrong. Do not rely on them as authoritative language instruction.
Updates
We may require you to install a newer version of the app before continuing to use it, when an older version is no longer compatible with the service.
Availability
The app is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that it will be available without interruption, that data will never be lost, or that it will be free of defects. Use the export feature to keep your own record of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including lost data or lost time.
Ending your use
You may delete your account at any time from inside the app. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms.
Changes
These terms may change. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last updated. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
